These are the people in my life that change me. They have walked beside me and love me more than I could have ever asked for…
We shall start with the family:
My Dad: My dad is a pastor. Not the kind that puts the church before family…but the kind that went to my volleball games and gave my brother and I pony rides on his back. He always has a joke…and while they ushually aren’t that funny, we tell him they are because we love him (don’t tell him). He has a fun spirit. He is the kind of dad that made his daughter feel beautiful and loved. Dad-daughter Starbucks dates are one my favorite things in the world.
Mammacita: I love this woman. We somehow manage to never run out of conversation even though we talk every day. She is always full of smiles and hugs and dances in the kitchen (yes, we have a special kitchen dance). She is involed in women’s ministries and she has a big heart for the women of the Church. She is such a blessing to me and I know that she blesses others.
The brother: Greg is the best. Seriously, the best… and you can’t have him. He has always been one of my best friends. He is passionate and intentional. I love that in him because I think that is how we are supposed to be. Greg is a youth pastor. He also preaches sometimes in “big church”. Greg sermons are the best because in every one he laughs, yells, cries and whispers at some point. Dynamic. haha. Anywho, he is going to plant a church in the next few years and God is going to be there. Won’t that be cool? A church where God is?…all this to say I love him and will follow him as he follows Christ. He just got married to a fantastic girl named Emily. She is great and I could not have chosen a better life partner for my brother.
so that was family, now on to the friends…
Sarah: We have been friends for 11 years. That is a long time. My favorite thing about her is that I can be totally real with her because she already knows everything about me. No pretense. You don’t have to explain yourself…she already understands. We love each other, support one another, pray for one another…she means the world to me. She taught me to see people with compassionate eyes and a heart full of love.
Joelle: She is a little ray of sunshine in my life that shines for One. She loves the Lord with her heart, soul, and mind. She has been an encouragement to me and has really challenged me towards holiness. I love her so much and am blessed to know her. Thank you Joelle for your encouragement, challenges, and love.
Beth: Oh Beth. She is fun to be around and always makes me smile. We take really good pictures together too, but that is beside the point. I love this girl and am glad to be in her life. We spend a ridiculous amount of time together and I never get tired of her. She gets me and that is important in friendship. I hate not living near her right now, but what is community if it is not worth fighting for, right? All this to say, everyone should have a Beth and I am sad for you if you don’t.
My Xica: How I miss her. The funny part about Xica and I is that our friendship is probably the most random friendship on earth. We didn’t like each other when we first met…but now I cannot imagine life without her. We think so much alike it’s scary sometimes. Then other times we don’t understand each other at all. I love it. She has a love for the Lord and a genuine desire to serve and glorify Him. She warms my heart.
the crew: i never knew it was possible to love so deeply in such a short time. i love these people and have learned so much about my Lord through them.
