i love to talk. it’s really one of my favorite pass-times. i love a really great conversation that makes you think and challenges you. last night i had one of those. my friend dylan and i had a discussion about complacency over facebook chat yesterday. i guess that counts as conversation, right? anywho, he just got back from a study abroad trip to england and he shared with me the struggles and challenges of being a Christian in a place where there are not many and with people that don’t believe in God.
we talked about what God has been teaching us about the necessity of being an active follower of Jesus. there are too many Christians being observers, putting Jesus as number 2,3,4,…in their lives. dylan and i talked about how we too are those people. God gets out attention then we pretend not to hear Him after a while. it’s hard. comfort is easier than sacrifice. doing nothing is always easier than doing something.
it was really great to have a conversation with a like-minded person that is being stretched in the same way at the same time. i think last night was a divine appointment. it encouraged both of us in our faith and reminded us of the reality of the dying world around us. it is really great to see God alive and active in a brother’s life. am i right sisters? thank you dylan for being you.
